Research is at the heart of the faculty. The main strength of the faculty in the area of research is its ability to be flexible in responding to the rapidly changing research area, the formation of new priorities, the emergence of relevant research topics, and the challenges of international and national programmes.
Competence of the researchers
Faculty researchers and teachers are highly-qualified professionals whose competence has been recognised on national and international levels. This is evidenced by membership in the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, the Science Council of Lithuania, honorary titles awarded by foreign universities, memberships in international organisations.
At present, 5 scientific journals are published at the faculty.
The organisation of doctoral studies aims at the preparation of young researchers who could successfully integrate into the national and international research environment and be able to work in inter-institutional and international research teams.
Faculty’s strength is its ability to involve young researchers in various scientific activities, creating favourable conditions for university doctoral students not only to deepen their theoretical and methodological knowledge of a particular field of science but also to conduct scientific research of international significance, to participate in international projects and traineeships abroad, to give lectures and seminars not only in this university but also in partner universities abroad. Since the reestablishment of the university, almost 30 young and perspective doctors of political science have joined the ranks of Lithuanian and world researchers.
